Anomaly Jiu Jitsu was established in La Feria, Texas in 2019 by Art Castillo. Professor Art is currently a black belt under Professor Dan Rodriguez of Cinco MMA and Professor Diego Ferreira of Team Ferreira BJJ.

Art has been practicing the art of jiu jitsu since 2007. In his martial arts journey he was first a practitioner of muay thai, which then opened the gate for him and jiu jitsu. After starting his family he practiced the art off and on as often as he could. In 2016 he fully dedicated himself to the sport.

After much thought and prayer, Art, knew he wanted to pursue his dream of opening up his own jiu jitsu gym. He knew that there was no other option for him but to start that dream in his very own home town. "I wanted to start and grow my gym in the town I was raised in, and I take pride in being La Feria's first jiu jitsu gym."
